DO PICK ART

MAY THE ART BE WITH YOU

After Dusk/2.

The poem was published in Do Pick’s book AFTER DUSK.

to despair one needs doubt

in this merciless progression

in the current of time objects fade ornaments houses fade

everything stripped bare and there is too much of it

worthless disposable dull replaceable

it goes unnoticed when nothing is missing

because there is always another not the same not it but what does it matter

no attachment nothing matters

anything can be bought anytime

and as the storage empties quietly in the back

it is unseen by the eye

a faint cry of those still alive is heard

the machine replaces everything with the synthetic

value composts into biomass

the cheap holds its feast above it

and through the cracks of certainty

darkness slowly seeps in
